Virtual Stock Exchange Strategy: Beginner Traders

A good strategy for the beginner trader is to buy a company you already know while the price is coming down.

Why would I buy a stock while the price is coming down?

Well it comes down to logic

If I know a company's name

Either

  • This company has to perform well for many years to get me to remember this company’s name

Or

  • A company does something so bad the people remember that company’s name.

If a company is doing well, that mean the stock price will eventually go back up.

As a result: PROFITS

Stock Trading On VSE: 8/23/13

I am still trying to get in to first place. Some of the other players made some big gains, which knock me down to third place temporary in the morning.

I woke up at 9 am and saw that my some of the other players had made some big gains. I sold my stock (PLCM at $10.32) anticipating the stock will retrace.

I then repurchase PLCM at 10.31 with only half of the shares. Eventually, PLCM retraced to 10.28. I need more patience to capitalize on the retracement.

I then purchased PAAS at $13.36 with the rest of the cash I had left.

8/23/13
PLCM: +0.07
PAAS: +0.17
